End of season ride ends in chaos

I went out for a ride yesterday as the riding days are numbered. I was getting on the gas fairly hard, when my drive chain broke.

With needing a new chain, I thought it was a good time to replace the sprockets.

When I removed the cover over the small front sprocket, this is what I found.....

I feel like I got punched in the gut.....


Any on the cheap fix ideas???

Yup, that happens often when the chain breaks on the 750. Honda did a fair amount of warranty work when the bikes came out because of this. I have a set of cases that had been fixed by welding it...Would be just as easy to get a different set of cases.
