I have a question pertaining to vin. numbers, How do I know if I have the correct engine in the frame? the bike came with 2 engines. What should I look for in the vin. number on the neck that will corrospond to the numbers on the case?

The numbers are not the same between the frame and the motor. Bike and motor where made on seperate assembly lines and got there own numbers.
I have a chart but its not on my computer.

Figure a K7 bike frame numbers should be CB750-2700009 - 2729532 and motor should be CB750E-2700009 - 2729740

a K8 bike should be CB750-2800001 - 2862980 and motor should be CB750E-3000001 - 3062980

All this is assuming a bike sent to the US.

Get me the motor numbers and I can tell you about what year they where made.

Also you never know if the engine has been changed over the years as they all bolt up. So the number don't match even from the factory.

first one looks like a 1976 K6 if its a CB750E number. It isn't by chance a CB750F or CB750FE is it? This is a weird year they had CB750K, A, and F models.
second motor in the bike is a 1975 K5

Hello,
I have recently started working on the engine of my cb750 and I want to order some new parts. I have a similar situation where I want to make sure I order the correct parts and need some help identifying the correct model from the vin number. The vin number is CB750E-1020639. I was told when I got the bike that it is a 1972 cb750 and that is the year stated on the title. From what I have been researching online, the vin number for the 1972 engines is CB750E-2000001. The model that matches up with the vin number on my engine according to what I have read online is the cb750K-0 which starts with the vin number CB750E-1000001. I am not sure if I am doing this correctly and I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem.

Its defiantly not a 72 motor. It is a late 1970 motor. Depending on what you need for motor parts the year wont matter much. Also just because the cases are 1970 doesn't mean it hasn't been rebuilt with other years of parts by someone else so you need to have a good understanding of what parts where changed through the production run of these motors. If you list what parts you are replacing I can give you a good idea if they are anything specific to a certain year.

trying to identify a build bike I bought. vin #s are frame-CB750-1062106...engine-CB750E-1062568 also need to get either a lost or builders title in missouri. any help is appreciated

Just got this bike. Any help identifying year and type would be great. Thank you. VIN on the frame is RC01-2200132. I believe its a 1980 but I'm not sure if its a K, C, or F model

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately I can't go off of wheels cause who knows if these are the originals. Was hoping by the vin number on the frame that I posted it would tell me what model cb 750 I have.

Hey, would you be able to provide me with info with my serial numbers? I'm not sure what year these are - my step dad rebuilt the bike, but had many different ones to part out.

Engine Serial: CB750E - 1107563

Frame: CB750K - 2707694

He left it to me after he passed away and I'm trying to get it back to running condition. Any help is appreciated.
