Third gear vi

I recently bought an '80 Custom CB 750 with 14K miles on it. The bike is decent physical shape and runs well. However, I have noticed that it has trouble accelerating in the 3rd, 4th and 5th gears. The fastest I can go is around 50mph without bringing on harsh vibrations. I am not sure if this is typical or some thing that needs to be fixed. The guy who sold me the bike said he synced the carbs in 2013.

Any comments appreciated.

I do not know by Your post if the bike itself is vibrating or the engine . The carbs on those are more harder to setup than the earlier 70,s models. Previous owner claims to Me are hearsay unless it is a friend of Yours, Bad carb sync. will make it run like crap but the vibration is another issue.
