Hello all, my brother just picked up an 81 750, that needs some carb work. We pulled the carbs and opened up the bottom of the one on the far left (if it were still on the bike) and found that the needle jet holder wasn't doing much holding at all, in fact it was barely threaded in and practically fell off in my hands.

Would this cause the bike not to run at all? With the carbs on we could get her to fire, but only with the help of some ether.

We're ordering new gasket kit, but we're hoping to go into this as prepared as possible =)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Allen

Only one faulty carb (with the issue you described) on an inline 4 would not keep the other 3 cylinders from running if everything else was up to par in that motor, no. It would run, probably just not on that cylinder.
