1975 cb750 turn signal screw/lens question

So my cb750 came with only one front turn signal lens.

I purchased a dome-shaped one for the left side (they match perfectly) however there is some extra plastic on it and I can't get the OEM screw through due to the screw head being too wide and not clearing the said plastic

I'm pretty close to just buying a dremel and making it work (already bought a small file set, that didn't yield very good results)

Any suggestions?

If You own a drill put the screw in the chuck and tighten it it up, If possible not on on the theads and use a flat file and lathe the screw head down until You have the correct clearance, Coat the cut part of the screw with nail polish or paint to prevent rust.
