I am excited about my next build!! Started with tearing down the wheels for paint but first drilled the rotors and bead blasted them last night. Hope to be powder coating this weekend (have a patio to finish first). Candy red centers and the rims will be candy red as well.

I have my tank in now and set it on the frame with the seat to get a feel for where everything will wind up. Hav ethe rear hoop to install next and scrubbing the foam off my pan to see if I can get this seat to flip open with the key. I like that feature!

Looking good! Are you holding off on powder coating the wheels and rotors? Where did you get the seat and tank?

No I am powder coating stock wire wheels, just trying to pick up a 75-76 SS wheel from a buddy up in Denton. Then I'll be coating the rims in candy red. Tank I got off of Ebay, about $440, actually my wife bought it for my b-day as I had been eye-balling it for a while! lol Can't remember where I got the seat. A site I stubled upon. Rotors are drilled and awaiting powercoating as well. I have candy red, gold, and black. Frame and swingarm will be gold.

K2 - That is the stock 73 swing arm and a Ducati Monster rear wheel. I have the front to match as well as forks and trees for the next build. and Thanks!

Chopped the frame last night and started bead blasting the 76 swing arm thats going on her.

The hoop looks good. What do you have a tube bender? What size tube did you use?

I bought it off of a guy on Ebay that is making them for the 550's etc. Gave him the dimensions and he thought he could get it close.....it was spot on! About $54 or somthing close shipped.

Have a buddy with a bender but doesn't have the jigs for this 1" bend radius. I was looking in to getting him one as I will need another but, at $130 a set and a learning curve, I just ordered off of this guy.

Let me know if you need his Ebay ID, I'll go look it back up. Think he was in AZ and I got it pretty quick.

I actually have a nice bender, but probably don't have the right size die for a hoop like that. The dies are about $200 each. What is the radius of the bend?

Weather is cooling off and getting in some garage time. Got my wheels broke down and started on the front hub. Sanding the ribs down on it first.

Next I power the bearing covers and start sanding/polishing the rear hub.

Stay tuned!

I drilled them, beadblasted, then cleaned them. Then I taped them and cut the tape off around the holes, then powdercoated them and baked them. Happy with my results that I may have to go redo the yellow ones on my 76 SS to paint inside those holes!

Gonz that looks great! Your giving me ideas for my 72 cafe with the tracy body im ready to get back to work on it as soon as i have the 450 down to the frame and its at the powder coat shop.

Damn that sounds like a lot of work! :) I was thinking you powder coated them completely then turned them to remove the coating from brake surfaces. Either way... good work!
