I counted the rollers and got 88 i then counted the outer and inner plates and got 88 so i`m assuming my drive chain is 88 links long. When i look for a new chain for the 750 these parts sites keep showing up with 110 link chains for the 78 cb750. so the question arose do i not know how to count or did someone seriously shorten this chain. Where do you order your chains for your bikes from? Thank you for any advice.

88 I think is right for your 78. earlier 750s had longer chains because they had larger rear sprockets then the later ones so you need more links. The earlier 750 are in the 100 link for length

I think the chains are just as long but have less links since each link is bigger on the 630 chain.
